About MBS
Measured Building Surveying is the process of capturing the dimensional attributes and features of a building or structure and processing the captured data to produce accurate as-built drawings.
Survey Process
Laser Scanning
Interior and exterior data is captured in the field utilising laser scanning techniques. Laser scanning is extremely safe and efficient with an extraordinary amount of detail captured in a short space of time ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants.
The resulting Point Cloud contains millions of precise points allowing for the production of multiple output such as Site Plan, Elevations, Floor Plans, Roof Plans and Sections.
Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry is the process of capturing images and stitching them together to create dimensionally accurate, true-to-scale photo deliverables. This is achieved by utilising specialist high-resolution camera rigs in conjunction with laser scanning technology.
The images can be provided as part of a 2D AutoCAD bundle, where they are superimposed on Elevations, Floor Plans, Roof Plans, or Sections to accurately depict intricate details. Additionally, the photos can be merged to generate independent Models for utilization in Digital Twin or BIM applications.
Drone
Drone/ UAV Surveying is the process of capturing survey data from unmanned aerial vehicles. Drones are primarily used to capture data in hard-to-reach areas such as roofs or other inaccessible or unsafe areas. The data captured from the drone can be combined with ground-based data to create a cohesive final deliverable while prioritising health and safety on site.
Experience
We have provided MBS within almost every conceivable environment ranging from small semi-detached houses to the Custom House in Dublin. Some of the type of buildings/ facilities we have surveyed include residential, commercial office buildings, retail spaces, pharma facilities, clean rooms, hospitals, schools, historic buildings, castles and many more.
Measured Building Surveys are frequently integrated with topographic surveys, BIM Surveys, and Underground Utility Surveys to offer a comprehensive surveying solution.
