Underground Utility Survey of the preferred Drumcondra to Swords route of the proposed BRT including approx combined 18Km of carriageway and footpaths through a busy urban and suburban environment on national, regional and city roads.
Traffic Management implemented as per Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
Above ground utilities surveyed included overhead lines, inspection covers, inspection boxes , utility poles.
Below ground utilities detected using a combination of Radio Detection, Electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) techniques. Items detected included electric cables, telecommunication cables, gas main, water main, storm drains, foul sewer and non-metallic pipes and ducting.
Utility chambers inspected to create a comprehensive Manhole Description Report which included the utility type, chamber dimensions, depth of pipes/ ducting and diameter of pipes/ ducting.
GPR Cross Sections observed across the site at 10m intervals and post-processed for further analysis with results provided in the Technical Report
